Local Artist Raises $1600 for Make-A-Wish
Western NY artist, Beth Brawn, recently released her design, “Making A Wish” at an art
show and Chinese auction that was held to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of WNY. With the help of family and friends
they raised over $1600 which will be used toward granting the wish of a local, 3 year old, Make-A-Wish child.
The event was held at Montgomery Park in East Amherst with over 60 people in attendance to witness the unveiling
of the print which was performed by James Patrick, Buffalo Sabre and Selena Rose, Make-A-Wish child, and her family. The original
painting was on display along with the just released prints.
“Being the first annual event, it turned out to be a big success and I am thrilled at how generous the
community can be,” Brawn adds, “Everyone had a lot of fun and with the help of many local businesses we had some
fantastic auction items to raffle off. Next years event is already in the planning stages and I expect it to be at least twice
as big with double the amount of auction items!”
From the sale of each “Making A Wish” print, Brawn will donate a portion of the proceeds to the
Western New York, Make-A-Wish Foundation ®. This is the first in a series of prints Brawn will release to benefit the Make-A-Wish
Foundation ®. Her second one is scheduled to be released around April 2005 and will be complimentary to “Making A Wish.”
